Newcastle United have another tough outing in the Premier League, this time at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers as they look to rise from a three-game losing run. Going into this game, Newcastle have 31 points, in 15th place while Wolves have 49 points, in eighth place. The Magpies are coming from a 5-1 loss away to Tottenham Hotspur and the fire they had at the start of the year seems to be dying down. They are coming from three straight losses and in two of them, they’ve failed to score. Newcastle United have no clean sheet in their last five matches and both sides have scored in three of the five. At home they are a different side though, and will be happy to be back home after three straight away matches. They have three straight wins at home and are unbeaten in the last four home games. Out of the last five home league matches, Newcastle United have managed three wins and are unbeaten.

Wolves on the other hand, are coming from a 2-1 win over Aston Villa, improving from the 3-2 home loss to Aston Villa. That win marked the third game in five that they managed to score at least two goals but they have failed to score in one of their last five matches, and have conceded two or more goals in two of the five. Wolves have two clean sheets in their last five matches. At some point in the season, Wolves seemed capable of a top four finish, and while that is still within their reach, recent performances have stated otherwise. A win here can only get them to sixth place and they have played a game more than fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur. Three of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals. They beat Newcastle 2-1 in their earlier meeting in October and will be looking to complete a double but they’ll find a recharged Newcastle side here.  In the last five meetings between these two sides, both teams have managed to score.
