ENGLAND – PREMIER LEAGUE: Liverpool vs Manchester United match prediction.

Liverpool vs Manchester United

Tip Liverpool – Manchester United

Liverpool  are second but can go top of the Premier League with a home win over fifth placed Manchester United. They trail leaders Manchester City by a point with seven games remaining. A win here will take them two points clear at the top as City don’t play until the following day. Liverpool are the only side in the Premier League with an unbeaten home record. They have won 12 of their 15 games and are the top scorers too with just seven goals conceded. Liverpool had that nightmare period last season when somehow losing six consecutive home league fixtures. They have been unbeaten in 19 home Premier League games since the last of those losses. The last ten have been won with only two goals conceded and they’ve scored at least twice in eight of those games.

It was a good weekend for Manchester United with both Tottenham and Arsenal being beaten. They made hard work of a 3-2 home win over Norwich . United have only won six away league fixtures this season with four defeats. The weekend results left them just three points behind fourth placed Tottenham but they have an inferior goal difference. Their last two away league games have both been lost and only one of the last four on the road have been won. Keeping clean sheets in away Premier League games is not something that happens regularly. Nine of their last 10 away league games has seen them concede. Liverpool are in top form as they chase a quadruple, go for them to get a home win here.

ConclusionLIVERPOOL – MANCHESTER UNITED

Liverpool have a more difficult run-in but in their current form have a great chance of winning the Premier League. They are turned Anfield back into a fortress with 10 successive league wins. Manchester United’s chances of a top four finish improved at the weekend but without Ronaldo wouldn’t have beaten Norwich. Their away form is erratic and they struggle to keep clean sheets. Back Liverpool to win this match.
