Liverpool can go two points clear at the top of the Premier League with a home win over Tottenham. They will have played a game more than current leaders Manchester City, who host Newcastle the following day. Liverpool have the best home record in the Premier League. They have won 14 out of their 17 games at Anfield and are the only side yet to lose a home league fixture. 45 goals have been scored and just seven conceded. Their last 12 home games in the Premier League have all been won. Scoring against them is a difficult task with no goals conceded in the last five and ten clean sheets in the last 12. Liverpool last conceded a home Premier League goal on March 19 and that was against bottom-of-the-table Norwich City.

Tottenham still have a good chance of a top-four finish. After a comfortable 3-1 home win over Leicester City, they are two points behind fourth placed Arsenal from the same number of games. They can go fourth if winning this as the Gunners don’t play Leeds at home until the next day. Tottenham have won eight away league games this season and now would be a great time to make it nine. Only one of their last five away league matches have been lost. Last time out though they were held to a goalless draw at Brentford. Before that they’d scored 12 goal in their last four Premier League games. Their last three league visits to Anfield have all ended in a 2-1 defeat. Liverpool are so difficult to beat at Anfield now (how did they lose six in a row last season?) and can get a home win here.
